Meet Dee,our foster fail!

Dee has been part of the family now for quite some time but I haven’t done a proper introduction for our girl! We started fostering her in October.  She was going to be a medical foster because of eye surgery that she would be having. My fostering past has been mostly fails…but really successes Description: ;)Scott, my husband was unsure about fostering because he knew my families foster past but he also knew this is something I really wanted to do. We met her and she was home the next week. I tried to not get too close because I knew I would get attached but that only lasted until she had the surgery and she was home with a cone around her head, stitches, and in pain. Seeing her after surgery broke our hearts but it was the best thing for her. She could finally see better and her eyes no longer bothered her. Kooper and Dee became inseparable and best friends. Dee was the best thing for Koop…and us! We eventually put her on the adoption page at Baltimore Humane Society and I cried. I knew we couldn’t let her go and even though Scott tried to act like he didn’t care, he really did. He LOVES the Deeders! I am so glad that we were a foster fail…Dee has brought so much joy into our house! My track record continues with fostering.
Six things about our girl Dee:
  1. She loves everybody! This is a difference from Koop. Dee is happiest when she is around people.
  2. She is 4 years old. She looks a lot older but she is still a youngster.
  3. She has terrible allergies… we just got her results back and she is allergic to everything they test pups for…she is our overachiever : )
  4. Dee is obsessed with Scott. She absolutely adores him and will follow him everywhere he goes. She is a daddy’s girl.
  5. Her favorite snack is bananas.
  6. She is the clumsiest dog I have ever been around. She bumps in to everything and falls off the couch when playing with Koop.

Spring is finally here!

How excited are you that spring is here? As it is snowing today it doesn’t feel much like spring! I know for us it has been a long cold winter and we are very excited for the longer days and warmer weather. With that being said here are some suggestions for some fun during the warmer weather. Step away from Netflix and enjoy some quality time outside with your four legged buddy.

1.Local outdoor locations to check out and enjoy the nice weather this spring:

  • Honeygo Run Regional Trail in Perry Hall- They have many trails that you go walk on.
  •  Address: 9033 Honeygo Blvd. Perry Hall, MD 21128
  •   Ma Pa Heritage Trail- great trails to take a walk/run with your pups near Bel Air
  • Address: 702 N. Tollgate Road, Bel Air, MD 21014
  • Gunpowder Falls State Park-another great option to check out with you pup.
  • Sandy Point State Park- day trip maybe? Does your dog love the water? My parents took their pup for the day and she LOVED it! Pets are allowed in the day use area from October 1st to April 30th.
  • 1100 E College Pkwy, Annapolis, MD 21409

2. Go for a nice walk in your neighborhood or play fetch in the backyard- if you and your pup aren’t used to it gradually get into it. You don’t want to start off walking for 40 minutes.

3.Check out the app WoofTrax-They have a program called Walk for a Dog program. They donate to the shelter of your choice that is in their network. What is better than getting exercise with your pup while raising money to your local shelter for dogs in need?

** Stay tuned for our spring social…will be a great time to come spend a weekend morning with us and your pup**
